Blake Lively is not only unbelievable to look at but she can actually act her socks off too. As skanky single mum Krista in The Town (2010), Lively proves she's more than Manhattan's hottest coat-hanger. She's got the Boston accent down, the druggy slurred speech, high-eyes and convincing passion. The role is reminiscent of Patricia Arquette's Alabama in True Romance (1993) all it takes is a flash of her pearly whites and your heart bursts through your ribs like a loony tune. Genuinely surprising and one of the many wonderful performances in the greatest bank heist movie since Dog Day Afternoon (1975).
