A threesome with Julie Delpy would be the perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. A triple bill involving Before Sunrise (1995), Before Sunset (2004) and Delpy’s directorial debut Two Days in Paris (2007) will cheer you right up and leave you scouring the internet for cheap deals on Eurostar or the ferries.
Delpy’s obviously influenced by Woody Allen. Two Days in Paris came with a cerebral screenplay, a sprinkling of light slapstick and a pair of identical spectacles and was every ounce as enjoyable as Manhattan (1979) and Annie Hall (1977). Unfortunately, with Woody waning (have you seen Scoop (2006)?) there is a gap in the market and Julie Delpy is the woman for the job.
Brilliant news then that Two Days in New York is in currently in pre-production and Delpy is behind the script and camera once more. At this stage Adam Goldberg, who played Jack in …in Paris, has not been cast but Chris Rock has along with Delpy reprising her role as Marion.
